DSM Winter PIT Training - Session 2

Point In Time (PIT):  As many of you are aware HUD mandates every Continuum of Care to complete a count of our homeless population in Polk County every year, the last 10 days of January.  This years PIT count will begin on January 31st at noon and run until February 1st at noon. 

o   Volunteer period:  Starting January 31st at noon to February 1st at noon, in 4 hour shifts.

o   Mandatory Training Meeting:  If you do sign up please plan on attending one of the following meetings at Primary Health Care (1200 University Ave)

§  January 16th from 5.00 PM to 6.00 PM

§  January 16th from 8.00 AM to 9.00 AM

o   Please email PHC directly if you are interested in volunteering or need to learn more before signing up.

o Location Meeting:  Will be held at PHC on January 29th at 10am to discuss specific camp locations for the count.  

In past years, we've handed out bags with supplies in them. We would like to continue to do this during our winter PIT count. The following are items that we need assistance in securing. 

Items needed:

·         Water bottles for clients: 100 bottles

·         Batteries

·         Granola bars:  

·         Socks: 

·         String bags:  100 bags to put these items in.
